Qigong (chee-gong) Sensory Treatment
(QST) Massage Training.
–“Harness the power of your touch”–
Qigong massage is a research-based therapy for children with special needs that empowers parents and strengthens bonding with their children. It is a safe, non-invasive, inexpensive and effective therapy.
In research studies, QST was demonstrated to show improvements in:
- Toilet training
- Sensory challenges
- Language and sense of humour
- Parental Stress
Objective : By the end of the training, you will be able to confidently use QST with your child.
Caregiver training equips you with the skills to give this specialized massage to individuals with special needs such as autism spectrum disorders, sensory challenges, Down syndrome and hyperactivity.
The training consists of both a theory component which covers the origins of Qigong massage and summarizes the published research data.
In the second part of the training, you will learn and practise each of the 12 movements of QST massage.
Following your training, you will have the choice of following either the parent only program or the parent and therapist program where I will work directly with your child for a specified number of sessions. As you will learn from the theory component, research has demonstrated the effectiveness of both programs.
“I love Qigong massage because it is based on research, is parent-centred and accessible to everyone, no matter where in the world they live. All you need as a parent is commitment to spend time with your child every day, using this ancient technique”.
