Give children responsibilities

Many children need help building their confidence and self-esteem. Children with special needs face even more challenges in this area.  I use the following strategies tobuild self-confidence in my two boys with autism:

  1. Play
  2. Giving them responsibilities
  3. Celebrating their talents and interests
  4. Teaching them that their best effort is good enough
  5. Ensuring they feel loved and secure
